Most people know QR codes as black-and-white squares that open a website when scanned. QR broadcasts use a similar encoding principle but at much higher data density — embedding entire content bundles into sequences of video frames.
How QR Video Works
- Digital content (news articles, alerts, instructions) is packaged into a bundle
- The bundle is cryptographically signed for authenticity
- Data is encoded into QR frames at video frame rate
- The resulting video can be played on any screen or distributed as a file
- A mobile app scans the frames and reconstructs the original content
Why Video as a Distribution Channel?
Video is universal. It can be:
- Broadcast on television or satellite
- Displayed on public screens
- Shared via USB drives or local networks
- Recorded and replayed
These channels often remain available when internet infrastructure does not.
